A bit of background:
Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when a grade nine boy in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Several students went to a discount store and bought 50 pink tank tops in protest. They sent a message to their schoolmates that night and passed them out in the foyer the next morning. The student was never bullied again.
Pink Shirt Day has since been recognized annually worldwide as a day to stand against bullying.
