How Safe is Our Water?
Mr. Schamehorn’s grade 8 science classes toured the water treatment and wastewater treatment plants this week as part of their unit on Freshwater systems. Thank-you to the Town of Peace River, especially Dana, Ben, Joe and Randy, for hosting us and making sure that the best water in the land is always working!
The classes then did some of their own water testing down at Pat’s Creek. The Canadian Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality suggest that the pH of drinking water should be between 7.0 and 10.5. Our results showed the pH of Pat's Creek to be at an ideal 8.0.
