Christmas Dinner and a Visit from Santa
Santa made a quick stop at our school this week much to the delight of our students. Everyone who attended our Christmas dinner was given a ticket when they entered the gymnasium. After finishing our amazing home-cooked turkey/ham dinner with all the trimmings (thank you to Kat's Koncession for preparing and our parent volunteers for serving), Ms. Neufeld started drawing ticket numbers and the squeals of excitement -- and groans of being one digit off -- began as students came forward to receive a gift. Thank you to all our student volunteers who wrapped all 55(!) gifts and filled many more goodie bags so that every student left with a full tummy and a candy bag in hand.
This was really a team effort as students pitched in to set up the tables and clear the gymnasium afterward. Mrs. Anderson and her team created beautiful centrepieces to use again next year. There was live music throughout and a short carol-singalong at the end.
One student made a point of telling our principal Mr. Pittman, "I've never been to a dress-up formal dinner before!"
At T.A. Norris Middle School, we pride ourselves on being family and our Christmas dinner was truly a celebration of how much we value our staff and students.
May this Christmas season be one of joy and celebration, however you choose to honour it.
