Ty Denison Tournament Winners
Congratulations to everyone for a successful weekend of volleyball at the Ty Denison Memorial tournament. Ty Denison was a former TAN student who was killed in a dirt biking accident two weeks before he was to begin grade 9. He loved fishing, quadding, hunting and dirt biking with his family. He was also passionate about volleyball and enjoyed playing on the school team. At the first tournament of the 2008-09 year, his grieving teammates all chose to wear Tyler's #22, after which the number retired and the tournament renamed in his memory.
The winning team on the boys side this year was St. Thomas Moore Kodiaks (Fairview) over Prairie River Raiders (High Prairie). The Girls' winners were Glenmary Saints (PR) vs the Fairview High School Cobras.
Thank you to all who support and to local businesses donated delicious food to keep our officials and scorekeepers fed. A special shout out to Subway, Peace Country Co-op, Freson Bros, team moms Jody and Jodie for the chilli, the Rogers family for the banana bread, and the anonymous family for the fruit and veggie tray. Your support of school sports is very much appreciated.
